The Robert Smith India Pale Ale Brewing Co. As it says on the building in the background of the image. This image is from West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania circa 1870. Located at 24th Ward at N.38th St Girard Ave, Reading Railroad. Company was founded in 1774 and sold in 1881. Closed when prohibition began in 1896. This image also represents the Horse Drawn Carriages.

The archive attribution lists Aldrich as the photographer, and records note the business later became Grant's store while the dealership reportedly remained a Ford franchise until roughly 1984. A utility pole with a small number plate stands near the sidewalk and the name BROAD'S is carved into the stone lintel above the doors.

The vehicle appears to be a 1910s touring model, possibly a Ford Model T or a similar manufacturer, with round brass-era headlamps and a two-piece folding windshield. Five passengers are visible: two men in the front (one driving) and three occupants in the rear; the women wear large Edwardian picture hats and tailored blouses, while one man wears a flat cap and another a light-colored suit. This image is from a small 3x5 celluloid-era print and captures leisurely motoring typical of New England in the mid-1910s.
