The Frye Company is a boot manufacturer that claims to be the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. The company was founded by John A. Frye and a partner in 1863 as a single shoe-making shop in Marlborough, Massachusetts. It gained renown from the production of multiple styles of boots, including harness boots (first designed in 1938) and engineer boots.
